Below are my final business card images, which are viewed on the MOO business card builder. When attending a lecture on business cards I was able to note that the quality of card from MOO seemed to be higher than other competitors. Therefore I evaluated the price of my design across several different websites, and MOO was actually cheaper. I was also able to find a 20% off code which made the website the obvious choice for my cards. I was able to add rounded corners to the cards also, which I feel gives a more customised, expensive yet soft complimentary feel. This paired with the gloss finish I selected will make my business cards appealing to future employers/cliental.
The front of the business card uses the landscape image I have trialled on several different designs. One of the main feedbacks from myself in WOP was that as a creative person, working within a creative environment, plain business cards without image are very easily overlooked. Therefore by using an image which I believe is a striking, attention grabbing image I am able to get the attention of my potential employer/client, and also adding value to my card by placing a beautiful image on it, aiming to make it less disposable, and the card holder more likely to hold onto it.
The back of the card again uses images, solely based on fashion as this is the industry I am most prone to be working in. The images are arranged in a 'shutter' effect which was something again I discovered in researching, that caught my own eye and also gave the ability to showcase several pieces of work without taking up the whole page. I am very happy with the arrangement of the images, which did take some time for me to get right, but now are in an order/composition to work with each other. My branding is applied on the right hand side of the card alongside my information. The right hand side is the side that in a small poll I ran was the most eye-catching, and although I want the images to be seen, I do want the text to be read first, between seeing the image on the front, turning the card, seeing my branding and industry, before then seeing the images and relating to my make-up application. The information inserted underneath the logo is a simple 4 aspect layout. Mobile, Landline contact numbers, with Email and Website links. This is the only information anyone should need on a business card allowing the holder to contact myself.
Overall I am really pleased with my business cards and how they have come out, but will need to analyse this when they actually arrive. As somebody very passionate about graphic design and branding, this has been a unit that I have wanted to work hard in, to express my other ability's in the design sector. I feel the cards have progressed massively alongside my branding from last years WOP unit, and using images and more colour has made them more inviting and made my brand a much more visual, inciting name.
